The 1979 La Soufrière Eruption is the personal account of poet-narrator Maxwell “Tajoe” Francis, who experienced a volcanic eruption in his homeland of St Vincent and the Grenadines. In 2020, new magma domes were identified and in 2021 there was an explosive eruption, thankfully with no loss of human life.
